Introducing Southpac’s new online community, COLAB

Creating genuine connection in today’s virtual world has become increasingly difficult, despite the abundance of platforms and social networks.

While virtual courses, conferences and hangouts undoubtedly have their place for maintaining professional development and broadening interaction across geographic borders and time zones, the search for meaningful interaction with industry peers remains largely unfilled.

As our Southpac training offering trends back towards face-to-face, or in-person training, our course participants – who vary from different organisations and industries – have often wished for a way to stay connected online post-course, and continue checking in on their progress, or share workplace-specific experiences with their course cohort.

Southpac’s new exclusive online community, COLAB, is a dedicated, private forum for participants of Southpac’s HOP courses and safety workshops to stay connected.

First and foremost, the COLAB platform is about asking for, and accessing help from likeminded peers who have likely been in your situation before, or faced similar challenges in their role. Whatever challenge you are facing, COLAB is a space to post about it and instantly connect with people that can help with answers and share their own experiences.

It’s a convenient way to connect with the right people, whether you have a question, something to offer, or an idea to share – collaborating with others on common challenges, and tapping into the collective knowledge and experience of other COLAB members.

How can members use the COLAB platform?

Asking for help: Post a question and tap into the collective knowledge and experience of other members, collaborating with others to work on common challenges and opportunities.

Connecting within communities: Communities are a way to join together with those who share a common interest, from anywhere in the field of health and safety. As well as joining the existing groups on the platform, as a member, you have the ability to start your own Community around an area you are interested in.

Mentoring: You can ask for mentorship or offer to be a mentor to other members on the platform. Mentees can build connections beyond existing networks, while mentors gain a sense of purpose and fulfilment, making a meaningful difference for a mentees’ growth.

Participants of Southpac’s Human & Organisational Performance (HOP) courses and Safety Re-crafted workshops gain exclusive access to the COLAB platform to enhance the training experience and ongoing benefits.
